street footie Football Club went into the sixth and final round of play of the Maryland SoccerPlex Men’s Open league series, sitting third and facing bottom-place Hernane Boyz. Both teams headed into that match knowing that points wouldn’t matter, and reputation was the match’s highlight.

On the one hand, street footie would be looking to conclude the league series positively as they headed into the game, coming from concurrent losses to second and first place, Banfield and Saturday FC. On the other hand, Hernane Boyz was still searching for three points to end a dreadful season.

Player of the Week

Soto was the outstanding player in the 2nd-Half collapse against Hernane Boyz. Jose Soto was handed the captain’s armband, pushed the side forward, and won many critical challenges. 

In the match’s early moments, Hernane Boyz registered a shot on target following a miss-qued pass by street footie. However, street footie would recover with a dominant display of possession and would be first to score. The remainder would take a toll on the spectators as miss-timed passes and turnovers became the spectacle of the game. street footie would end the match in utter despair as the game stamped three consecutive losses.
