And the fifteen clubs represented will look to bring their best selves for the first round of the competition as they push for a chance at being crowned champions of the Rowland Cup 2023 and an opportunity to compete for the Region I Werner Fricker Cup.

First Stint in the Rowland Cup
street footie football club will officially kick off its first stint in the Rowland Cup on January 15th, 2023, as they push to follow the steps of many others that have gone to replicate the feats of Sons of St. George, the first club to lift the cup in 1914.
Oldest Cup Competition in Maryland
The Rowland Cup prides itself on being the oldest cup competition in Maryland, and the state’s Open Championship attracts the best clubs from competing leagues. All clubs registered with the MSSA are eligible to participate in the first round of play of the Roland Cup.

The MSSL is a semi-professional men’s league established in 2021 and encompasses the Washington Metropolitan Area. The league prides itself on its founding principles of representative membership, elite competition, top coverage, and fair governance. In addition, the MSSL has affiliated with the United States Adult Soccer Association, the United States Soccer Federation, and the MSSA.
