On January 29, the eight teams that remain in the Rowland Cup 2023 will march onto the field with the honor of having made it to the Quarterfinals; the Rowland Cup prides itself on being the oldest open cup competition in Maryland, with Sons of St. George being the first to claim it in 1914. With the number cut by more than half, the competition looks more compelling as the teams battle for a chance at the Cup before advancing to the Region I Werner Fricker Cup.

Player to watch: Flávio Hastenreter
Flávio Hastenreter has had a tremendous impact on the dressing room since joining the squad on July 16, 2022; when on the field, his team gets an extra boost of confidence from his willingness to always work for them and his excellent ability on the ball. The Brazillian-born maestro can play several positions and will look to carry his spring/winter season form into the Rowland Cup 2023 Quarterfinal match when street footie FC faces Steel Pulse on January 29.
Hastenreter played the entirety of the match in street footie’s highlight 1-2 win against Baltimore Kickers in Maryland Super Soccer League Division Two spring season. Flavio also scored the club’s final goal of the 2022 campaign when street footie beat Bashgah 2-0.
