History in the Making
The Orange Army has had to overcome a lot on its path to joining the UPSL, but now, its most significant challenge is beating MSI Pro in its first-ever UPSL game.
A complete reshuffling of the squad from last season has magnified the team’s chemistry and built what looks like a winning side. The competition to earn and keep a spot in the first team has been beautiful. Such mentality and dedication from the players can only lead to the beginning of what one can read in the history books.
While the Orange Armys camp is excited, Manager Nelson Mwanza knows MSI Pro poses a significant threat to his players.
“We can beat them,” Mwanza said. “But we must welcome this opportunity as a team, and we will win. We are street footie, and we must dictate the style of play from the first minute. If we stick to our script, we will be victorious.”
street footie Player to Watch: Melvin Cabrera
Cabrera regained his former form by scoring a thunderous free kick against Baltimore City FC as preseason scrimmages concluded. In his first season for the Orange Army, Cabrera scored five league goals and assisted two more in just five appearances. The lads will look to use Cabrera’s skill and experience in this game.
